Freedom's Boombox - Bio

All-Vocal A Cappella Trio – USA

Freedom’s Boombox

Freedom's BoomboxFreedom’s Boombox is an all-vocal trio from the US.  Alfredo Austin started by collaborating with friends to make music videos. Then when Christopher and Richard joined him, the group officially formed. We had performed for years with The Exchange, and we worked well together. So, we kept singing. And recording. And filming. Since then, we have visited 3 different continents and try teach workshops between performances.

Freedom’s Boombox rose to popularity after videos singing covers a cappella (no instruments). Along with the video series, we have released 2 albums (Modern Vinyl Red and Modern Vinyl Blue) and collaborate with artists around the globe.

In addition to performing, our mission of reaching the corners of world through the voice has a second purpose. The group tours the US and the world to teach music and develop hip hop, beatbox, and vocal music programs. It’s an ongoing mission to provide positive activity alternatives for youth and underserved artists. For more information on our workshops, visit http://www.freedoms-boombox.com/workshops/.

QUICK HISTORY of FREEDOM’S BOOMBOX

2011: Richard, Alfredo, Christopher meet. As part of The Exchange, they begin recording and performing. Choreography, lights, boy-band fashion, touring with the Backstreet Boys…the whole thing. 50 countries!

2016: The trio formed as The Exchange parted ways. Alfredo recorded his own music as Freedom Young and started to collaborate with some of his friends. Two of those friends were Christopher and Richard. They filmed some videos. Some went viral. So, they kept it up!

2017: Again, we made a point to travel the world to make music. We started up the Fusion Music Academy in Melbourne, Australia. We also performed and taught in Moldova to celebrate 25 years of partnership with the US, sang in Mallorca Spain, taught and performed at SoJam and Kettering, recorded an album, produced the music show for the Australian Convention of Actors and Artists, and more.

2018: Freedom’s Boombox continued traveling around the world. Some highlights included: Saudi Arabia for one of the first public concerts, a cappella festivals like VoiceJam, Cheyenne Mountain, Camp A Cappella, and A Cappella University, a performance for the US Global Leadership Coalition.

Today: Arranging, recording videos, and preparing 2 albums for release this year. Watch a video. Share it. Come back often–cuz we all know how the radio churns out a new top 40, and Freedom’s Boombox will be there to sing it!
